UNO de 50

Jewellery Shores is an authorised stockist of Uno de 50 with a large range of the jewellery. We are one of a very few that stock a wide range on-line in the UK.

UNO de 50 is a Spanish jewellery brand that was created in 1996 by a group of young designers looking to move away from the traditional in favour of something new and original. The name UNO de 50 translates to One of 50 and came form the idea of founder Concha Diaz del Rio to produce only 50 units of each piece of jewellery, making the product special and exclusive.

The main philosophy behind UNO de 50 is about keeping the artisan skiils and craftmanship alive that can be seen in the final products. The design process, the molding and coating of the pieces with 15 microns of silver and asembling by hand the final pieces is all done in Madrid. All the pieces undergo and anti- allergenic process.

The unique characteristc of all the jewellery is the use of a metal alloy that allows them to be flexible in their designs and also gives the pieces the great feel and texture that makes them so different.

Ever since it was first launched, the brand has aimed to connect with it's customers feelings and ideas and passions, offering an uncoventional product with a sense of humour. It seeks to go beyound the mere utilitarian value of each object, using them to communicate a message.

Jewellery Care

Sterling Silver

We will always state if an item is sterling silver when purchased. Items that are sterling silver should not tarnish if looked after properly, they can oxidise through long periods of exposure out in the open air, so we do advise that they are kept in a pouch or grip plastic bag to keep it air tight. Silver can be polished up easily with a silver cloth or with a silver dip to brighten them up.

Gold/Rose Plated or Silver Plated Jewellery

All plated jewellery will tarnish eventually through wear . Plated jewellery must be not be worn in water and you must be careful with all creams, perfumes and fake tans as this will turn the plating black and discolour them.

Plated items worn daily will gradually fade in colour as this is not a permanent colour and cannot be polished with a cloth.

Gold Vermeil Jewellery

Vermeil is a silver-gilt and is a mixture of silver and gold precious metals. It can only be considered vermeil if the base metal is a precious metal and the gold has to be a thickness of 2.5 microns thick. Vermeil is harder wearing that your typical plating and so can be a good option if you wish to wear your item of gold jewellery every day and in and out of water, as it is less likely to discolour, They can also be polished up with a polishing cloth to restore the shine.

Magnetic Fastening

Anything with a magnetic fastening MUST NOT be put near water. They are magnets and can rust when in contact with any form or water or liquid. We advise taking off all bracelets like this when they are being used near water as this will allow them to last longer.
